About the role
Global Advanced Metals is seeking a Purchasing Officer to join our team in Greenbushes, WA 6254. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in supporting our supply chain operations and ensuring the efficient procurement of materials and services. As Purchasing Officer, you will be responsible for managing purchase orders, vendor relationships, and other administrative tasks. This role is integral to maintaining our competitive advantage and operational excellence within the metals and advanced materials sector.
This is a residential role requiring the successful applicant to live within reasonable commuting distance of Greenbushes WA. Accommodation is NOT available.
Key responsibilities
Processing and managing purchase orders from requisition through to delivery and invoice reconciliation
Ordering of consumables through various suppliers.
Maintaining accurate purchasing records, documentation and supplier databases
Liaising with internal departments to understand procurement needs and timelines
Supporting cost reduction initiatives through strategic procurement planning
Ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulatory requirements in procurement activities
What we’re looking for
Proven experience in a purchasing, procurement or supply chain role, ideally within manufacturing, logistics or industrial environments
Strong knowledge of procurement processes and vendor management.
Proficiency with purchasing systems and Microsoft Office applications
Excellent negotiation and communication skills with the ability to build effective supplier relationships
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and record-keeping
Problem-solving capability and initiative in resolving supply chain challenges
