Warren Health Service builder announced
- Pindan Pty Ltd to begin redevelopment of Warren Health Services in mid-September
- Two-year construction program to support about 370 jobs
- Made possible by the Liberal National Government’s Royalties of Regions program
The Liberal National Government today announced the contract for the $39.3 million redevelopment of the Warren Health Service had been awarded to Pindan Pty Ltd.
Regional Development Minister Terry Redman said the upgrades to the Warren Health Service in Manjimup would include a state-of-the-art emergency development, ambulance facilities, inpatient ward, surgical services, operating theatre, birthing suite, medical imaging, pathology department, primary health care and other support services.
“Construction is due to start in September and will support about 370 jobs over the course of the build, which will take around two years to complete,: Mr Redman said.
Health Minister John Day said the Warren redevelopment was part of the State Government’s Southern Inland Health Initiative’s (SIHI) program to improve hospital infrastructure in 37 towns across the Wheatbelt, Great Southern, Mid-West and South-West regions.
“Six integrated district health service hospitals will be redeveloped as part of the SIHI stream 2 capital works program,” Mr Day said.
“The community will start to have access to quality healthcare during construction, with the existing Warren Health Service remaining operational.”
The capital works program is one component of the $500 million SIHI program, made possible by the Government’s Royalties for Regions program.
Mr Redman said the Royalties for Regions investment would provide significant improvement to primary health care services through the redevelopment of district hospitals in southern Western Australia.
“Quality health infrastructure and services are fundamental to the ongoing viability and development of regional WA,” he said,
