The Opportunity
Join OPW as a Welfare and Wellbeing Officer, where you’ll play a vital role in supporting the welfare and wellbeing of seasonal workers, including those participating in the PALM Scheme. Your focus will be on fostering a supportive environment and addressing workers’ concerns.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary Welfare and Wellbeing Officer, meeting with seasonal workers every fortnight.
Discuss issues related to accommodation, transport, payslips, and personal challenges.
Document all discussions and refer issues to the Regional Operations Manager.
Ensure compliance with the PALM Deed and report on welfare meetings.
Assist the Regional Manager with the arrival and departure of workers as needed.
Provide support for social, emotional, and financial challenges, connecting workers with resources.
Skills & Experience
Experience in community integration support.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
Experience working autonomously and collaboratively.
Familiarity with diverse cultural backgrounds.
Strong reporting and administrative skills.
A National Police Check desirable
Australian driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
Availability for out-of-hours calls to support worker welfare.
