Shotfirer / Production Operator Full Time

Our client, based in Collie, is currently looking for Shotfirers, preferrably with Production Operator experience, to ensure their production outcomes are achieved in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.

You will be working for HSS on a Permanent Fixed Term Contract through to June 30 2026 with an opportunity to extend up to 2 years and also to be offered permanency with the client after 3 months.

Duties include:

• checking blasing areas to ensure safety requirements being met
• establishing exclusion zones in and around the blast area
• connecting and testing / inspecting blast curcuit
• fire charges
• inspecting blasting area to ensure all explosives have detonated
• adhere to company policies, procedures and applicable legislation
• willingness to operate machinery where required (see below)

Qualifications/Experience

• Minimum 1 year demonstrated open cut mine site experience in Drill & Blast crew
• WA Shotfirers License desirable
• Valid WA “C” class Driver’s Licence essential
• WA Dangerous Goods desirable
• Heavy Rigid Driver’s Licence desirable
• Certificate III in Surface Extraction desirable
• Physically fit and willing to undertake a pre-employment medical and drug screen

Roster/Pay Rate

• Drive in/drive out daily – must have accommodation and live within commuting distance to site
• 4 days on 4 days off (approx. 36 hours per week with additional shifts available)
• $61.04 per hour flat rate on all hours (additional shifts $72 per hour.
• Plus 12% Super Guarantee and Coal Long Service Leave 2.75% on ordinary hours
• 6 weeks annual leave (prorated)
• 10 days personal leave (prorated)

Production Experience

Machinery Operated (or equivalent):

• Dozers Caterpillar D10 & D11; Liebherr 776
• Excavators Liebherr 996 Face Shovel & Backhoe

Other Equipment on site (desirable)

• Dump Trucks Komatsu 830E, 730E & 630E; Caterpillar 777
• Water Carts Komatsu 630; Caterpillar 793
• Graders Caterpillar 16H & 16M
• Loaders Komatsu 1200 Front End Loader
