Geographe Civil is looking for an experienced Safety Advisor to join our team on a 3-month fixed-term contract, with the potential for extension.
This role is based at Talison Lithium’s Greenbushes Operations, supporting the construction of a Tailings Dam Buttress and Tailings Haulage Project.
Please note this is a Drive In Drive Out (DIDO) position. Accommodation is not provided, so applicants must live within a reasonable commuting distance of Greenbushes.
About the Role
You will collaborate closely with supervisors, team members, and our client to deliver effective safety leadership while ensuring compliance with site regulations and legislative standards. Your contributions will be crucial in fostering a proactive safety culture through visible leadership, coaching, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Responsibilities will include:
Conducting regular site inspections, workplace audits and field interactions
Preparing and reviewing project specific SWMS and CRAWS
Facilitating daily pre-starts and toolbox meetings
Investigating incidents and supporting corrective actions using the ICAM methodology
Monitoring compliance with site procedures, client requirements and WHS legislation
Maintaining project WHS documentation and records
Assisting with the ongoing maintenance and continual improvement of Geographe Civil’s Safety Management System
Providing practical WHS advice and support to supervisors and project personnel
Coaching and mentoring supervisors and employees in safe work practices
Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and proactive risk management
Building strong working relationships with client representatives and internal stakeholders
About you
We’re looking for someone who is approachable, confident and enjoys working alongside operational teams to achieve positive safety outcomes.
To be successful you will have:
Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Safety Advisor within the civil construction or mining industry
Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (or higher qualification)
Strong understanding of State and National WHS legislation, Regulations and Codes of Practice
Lead ICAM Investigator qualification
Environmental Green Card
Current White Card
Current First Aid Certificate
Current C Class Driver’s Licence
Intermediate computer skills across Microsoft Office and safety management systems
Excellent communication and public speaking skills with the ability to confidently facilitate meetings and deliver safety initiatives
Strong organisational and time management skills
High attention to detail and a proactive approach to safety
