About the role
As a Berry Harvest Supervisor, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day running of harvest operations and supervising seasonal harvest employees. This is a hands-on supervisory role suited to people who enjoy working outdoors, leading teams and ensuring harvesting activities are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
Key responsibilities
Supervising and coordinating harvest crews across daily farm operations
Allocating work and communicating daily harvesting priorities
Ensuring produce is harvested in accordance with quality and productivity requirements
Monitoring employee attendance, performance and work standards
Training and providing instruction to seasonal employees
Ensuring employees follow safe work procedures and farm policies
Conducting pre-start discussions and communicating relevant safety requirements
Monitoring harvest progress and reporting issues to farm management
Assisting with accurate recording of hours, production and other harvest information
Identifying quality, safety, staffing or operational issues and escalating them appropriately
About you
Previous experience in horticulture, agriculture, harvesting or farm operations
Previous supervisory, team leader or crew leader experience
Strong communication and people-management skills
The ability to give clear instructions and organise work effectively
A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
Good attention to produce quality and harvesting standards
The ability to keep accurate records
A practical, hands-on approach to problem solving
The ability to work outdoors and undertake physical farm work when required
Reliability and flexibility during peak harvest periods
