About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Exploration Project Geologist, the successful candidate will carry out a range of field and office functions to support successful geological outcomes. This is a full-time residential role on a 7:7 roster working a nominal 42 hour-week, with the weekly blocks alternating between day and night shift.

The primary responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

geological markups;
blast pattern mapping and sampling;
ore spotting during excavation;
liaising with drill and earthmoving contractors;
maintaining geology stores, vehicles and equipment;
documenting and recording of geological data;
conducting any other activity as directed by Senior Mine Geologist; and
providing effective handovers to other pit technicians.
About the Candidate

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following:

a proactive, collaborative approach and commitment to safety;
a willingness to contribute toward the success of your team while supporting a positive team culture;
strong and effective communication skills;
computer literacy;
previous geological or pit technician experience (desirable);
forklift license (desirable);
C class driver’s licence; and
the legal right to live and work in Australia.
