The Opportunity As a Counsellor with Medibank, you will play a part in helping some of the most vulnerable people in our community. In this rewarding role, you will be able to create positive change by assisting people experiencing emotional distress as a result of depression, anxiety, domestic violence or sexual assault through various programs. You will work from your home and initially be trained to take calls from one program and then crossed trained across our other programs. This gratifying role encompasses the following: Virtual at home training (2 weeks) Use of technology to complement strong clinical assessment skills We will also support you with ongoing education, coaching, and supervision. You will always feel part of the team no matter where you are based. About You You are an experienced Counsellor with a minimum of two years full time counselling experience and a demonstrated ability to work in a strength based, solutions focused framework or trauma informed practice. You have one of the following relevant qualifications: A tertiary degree in a relevant discipline in social science, social work, welfare studies, psychology or counselling OR A tertiary degree and post graduate degree or diploma in a relevant discipline (eg: social work, welfare studies, psychology or counselling) Other requirements include: Experience working with victims and survivors of trauma, sexual assault and domestic or family violence would be a distinct advantage. Experience in counselling for depression and anxiety Intermediate IT skills - comfortable navigating software, typing and talking at the same time. Active landline and suitable internet connection Private room/space which can be used for your home office set up Be able to commit to work a minimum of 15 to 37.5 hours a week Be avaiable to work for primarily night shifts Proof of application of a working with children check What we offer In return for your hard work, we offer a range of great benefits.
